Thou shallow mind

As your mind wanders, you may find yourself thinking about this one thing that’s never lazy. This one process that keeps on going till the end of your time. It’s the thought that never stops. It changes its face everywhere you look. Every different influence changes its way. Even when your body is sleeping, some parts of your central processing unit are still highly active.
From the moment we’re born, every sense is trained thus helping us to focus on specific things. Only after months and years of learning we’ve become able to focus on processes and their connections and therewith understand complex structures and our influence on those.

The problem arises when we’ve lost our interest in things. Without some special point of interest we use to wander around without getting the feeling of success. Focus is pretty important for anything you want to achieve. With all too far scattered interests you’re in danger of becoming a library containing short moments of nothing. Then again, if you concentrate too much, you become poison for yourself and others. Examples are: impotent top athletes, mad scientists, blind top managers - or as I may call them: failures in evolution.

Focus, but keep it real!

How to solve problem-free situations

As you may have realised about 50 postings later, these texts are not about real problems. Most of these statements are meant to help to concentrate on our own greatest fault: the imaginary creation of problems where there are none. They are thought to show, quite plainly and maybe in an a bit exaggerated way, the simplicity of most things without our complex thinking overhead. Some might call that satiric. Well, to be honest, I’d like to go a bit with Oscar Wilde who said “If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they’ll kill you”.
Alright, this is the 49th post; the last of the 7th series with seven texts per series, each from 200 to 300 words. So much for the statistics. Now, I could ask if it’s fun to read for anyone else besides myself. Or maybe, if another mind can understand or even enjoy such sentences like the one where I compare courage to a blind fly in the previous post How to run on caffeine.

Are the hours of sweating brain waves, producing more firing neurons than rockets in New York city - on New Year’s Eve - for such punchlines like used in In the dark shadows die appreciated or even noticed? Don’t worry, I won’t ask. Nevertheless, I really value every comment - except those about cheap Viagra and other tasty pills, those bastards never deliver. Anyway, if you got something to say, say it, or else stop making noise.
Once the crisis got out of your hands, you can stop worrying!

How to cry over spilled milk

If your problem is to be understood metaphorical the answer might be: don’t cry - someone else will, probably nine month later. But that’s not what I meant. A typical reaction is to blame someone else. Especially, when others are around. Typically, it’s even someone you believe in. Your god, parents, siblings or your companion. So, if you are the one blamed for someone else’s mistakes you’re allowed to feel honored.
It’s worse when you know it’s your own fault. Cause, let’s be honest, where is the fun in being stupid? On the other hand, there is some fun in that. This expression makes even more sense when you know that my case is about a dislocated arm. Alright, we’ve come to the realisation phase and know it has been our own mistake. So, how do we work it out? Now, don’t say: with the other arm, I didn’t mean that.

One of the most important things is to learn to live with wrong decisions. You have different ways to do that. One would be to regret these decisions and try to memorise them each time you have to make comparable decisions again. Another one is to deny any responsibility and blame your life or other unimportant ghosts you believe in for all times. Anyway, my favourite one is to regret nothing at all. Enjoy every pain and flaw and make the best out of it. That’s really hard and hurts a lot, but there’s no better feeling than the knowledge of being infallible.
Who said it wasn’t our plan to wipe out ourselves at all?

You are stuck in this world

Do you know this feeling, when you tell someone you trust about something and exactly that something is used against you later? It’s like giving someone your appendix cause it hurts, and being hung by it afterwards. You get the point. The problem is, usually we have a lot of troubles and one hell of a headache. Talking about these pains is like giving away apples while you’re in a container full of them and they’re multiplying themselves by your thoughts about them. An apple a day keeps sanity away. And it’s wrong to think that you can make your troubles disappear by eating them. All you get is a full stomach, stomach pain, eating disorders, complexes, a crazy companion and a stupid goldfish.
Anyway, the problem is neither an apple nor some person. It’s your headache. ‘Nehmen Sie die Menschen, wie sie sind, andere gibt’s nicht‘ said Konrad Adenauer and what he probably meant was that we won’t make people fit our needs. Well, we pretend you are the exception if your profession is to cut people into halves to pack them into neat boxes.

Regardless of the common lack for the recognition of our own stupidity, we may at least count on our irrationality with a certainty of 98 percent. Two percent are discrepancy and the times when you grab a new condom with manufacturing fault. The truth is, we should not only accept others as they are, but also ourselves.
Life gets simple not until you put yourself into a wooden box!

To care or not to care

Sometimes you don’t have to be sober to look at the world straight. Of course, if you prefer to do that without red, scratching eyes, a sore throat, the classical headache and no voice to express your feelings, you might want to get rid of some chemicals in your blood first.
Now, that we see trough our optical sense organs again, tell me what you see. Did I ask too quickly? Don’t mind! I’m going to explain it to you anyway. Most people care about the wrong things in life. I told you about wrong perspectives before (In change we find our relevance). Today I’m going to take the opposite position. As stated before, it’s important that we care about the big troubles in the world as well as to care about the small ones. A saying, probably Chinese, is somewhat like ‘take the serious problems with ease and the easy problems seriously’. You can really convert that to a larger scale. It truly makes no sense to abstain from eating because somewhere children are starving. You should, if your health is at risk by overeating, but not for anybody, anywhere.

The particular thing I want to pronounce is, you have to be able to say ‘I don’t give a crap!’. So many things in life are just unimportant. One main aspect about persons you love or like is that you care about them. Does that make sense if you also care about: shiny nail polish, alloy wheel rims, stupid shop assistants, cold coffee, bugging financial consultants? Make time your Christmas present. The ones who don’t value it, you don’t need to consider next year.
Those who matter don’t mind, and those who mind don’t matter!
